About Pinecrest Animal Hospital Pinecrest Animal Hospital was founded in the fall of 1953 by Dr. Jerry Fries in Owosso Michigan. He was a mixed practice veterinarian and was well known in the community for his expertise and willingness to travel where the patient was – including by plane and motorcycle! Along with his family he maintained the practice until he passed in 1983 and the practice was sold to Dr. Rich Elsesser.
